Hi Folks, Just migrated from NYC to London recently and have been checking out the area. I found a great record store for avant/experimental/atypical music: These Records www.theserecords.com 112 Brook Drive SE11 4TQ The actual store is a bit hard to find; refer to the website for a map (along with directions, in Japanese). Mailorder is available from the webpage, though you'd miss out on the bargain bins. I picked up a Evan Parker & Eddie Prevost double CD, "Most Materiall," on sale for £10. There were loads of older recordings by Derek Bailey, Evan Parker, Fred Frith, etc. which were reduced as well. The focus on UK-artists was apparent, but there was also loads of Sun Ra and various Japanese musicians as well. There is a considerable amount of music encompassing everything from improv, electronics, noise to spoken word to a section (w/4 subsects) called "The Section with No Name." It's definitely a place worth visiting if you'll be in London.
