------------------------------------------------ I love "Breakfast of Champions," one of the first literary books I read as a teen, but I can't imagine it translating well to the screen. "Cat's Cradle" would be better, assuming no one is going to tell me it's been done. ------------------------------------------------ The film Breakfast of Champions is damn near incomprehensible, even to someone who read the book a couple of times like me. It also leaves out some of the best parts imo. The best Vonnegut film adaptation I've seen is Mother Night, also with Nick Nolte but way better. ----Ryan Novak __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? The best Vonnegut adaptation I ever saw was "From Time to Timbuktu" (I think) an adaptation for TV (PBS?) of several interwoven short stories. -- | jzitt@metatronpress.com http://www.josephzitt.com/ | | http://www.metatronpress.com/jzitt/ http://www.mp3.com/josephzitt/ | | == New book: Surprise Me with Beauty: the Music of Human Systems == | | Comma / Gray Code Silence: the John Cage Discussion List |
