well, the sound quality of that bootleg IS bad, but quite enjoyable, the ensemble passages are clear enough (not muddy like in the taipei tapes, for example) and the playing by all the musicians is awesome. if you find it at your local virgin store(!!), just buy it, that's my advice. kenny wollesen has always been the ideal substitute for baron, in my opinion, he fits perfectly in the music (after all he was the drummer for new klezmer trio, one of the declared predecessors of masada). talking about cohen, well, he actually sounds like he's on electric bass, but it's probably due to the mix, even if it wouldn't have surprised me too much if he picked up his bass-tarda for a gig.. Now I remember that album. I didn't really know where that recording came from, but the sound quality standards are quite bad. However, if my memory serves, Cohen sounded pretty loud in the mix and there's no doubt that he played acoustic bass (I would have been quite surprised if it weren't so).
