He used it twice (as I remember) to make some bird noise. Paul Michael Sager wrote:
What did Zorn do with the mobile phone in Vienna? I saw his last two performances at Tonic in NYC, and both times he pulled out his phone during the show and showed it to one of the other players, chuckling at some private joke about it. I thought maybe he was getting a call during the show.

I saw them last Saturday in Vienne (France) and it was just
great!!! I
guess the band was the normal one (i.e. Zorn, Baptista,
Wollensen, Dunn,
Ribot, and Saft). I had never heard electric masada and didn't
really
know what to expect from it. I was really pleased to see that
changes
from the regular Masada are not too big but still really add a lot. The
show ended with a really nice encore with Zorn using a mobile
phone in
the end of the song ;-)
The show in Vienne was great -- but too short, only 6 songs from what I remember. Btw does anyone have the playlist? Also are the other 4 (besides Zorn & Ribot) regulars, I didn't know them. The ``rock'' sound of Electric Masada was a complete surprise for me and I loved it. One other thing that amazed me is the enthusiastic response of the audience (a lot more enthusiastic than for, say, the (imho) pathetic show that Laswell gave that same evening).
