Finally I was just curious whether the criticism >of 'I Killed Your God' was just for that album, or is it for Shrek in general? I
heard the 'Shrek' album and found it kind of hard to get into, and wondered whether people find this one also annoying?
This is the one with Ribot doing Smashmouth right? Actually, except for the terribly trashy sound quality (and I LIKE muddy sound usually) this is a great album. Can't compare it to "Yo..." since I've never heard that maligned recording. Know though that if Ribot singing scares you, there's none of that on Shrek. Well, wait, but you've already heard it and been annoyed- okay, then this is more for the other post I got on this. Slightly better sounding (although could be from the same session) are the Shrek tracks on the split disc with Fred Frith, "Sounds of a Distant Episode". I discovered that Ribot's artistic focus was a little scattered later, but I always found these recordings rather coherent. Really good stuff- just wonder why they couldn't have thrown a few more mics up. ----Ryan Novak __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Sign up for SBC Yahoo!
