What does this sound like? I absolutely love all the stuff I've heard from Ayler but I'm not sure with this one.
It's probably worth getting, though the vocals are rather cheesy and period-specific. Ayler plays bagpipes on Masonic Inborn, the longest track on the recording, and the CD has some really nice moments. Bobby Few sticks out in particular. The only real R&B track is the last one, Drudgery, and it isn't all that painful. But like Ken Waxman, I can pretty well live without Mary Maria who basically ruins tracks like "A Man Is Like a Tree" and "Island Harvest" with her cliché ridden vocals.
