David Murray was the most influential jazz player of the 1980s.
Surely it was Kenny Gorelick, no? <ducks> Later, Ben np: goblin, "suspiria" nr: samuel delany, "dhalgren" [Someone had asked about "Dhalgren" earlier, maybe s~z -- a Barthes reference? I'm at page 300-something right now, and it's proven to be a rather gripping read (the prose is fantastic), but I honestly can't tell you what it's about. All I can say is that something has happened (and it's not clear what that was), and that something is happening (and I'm not sure what it is either). Actually, I don't think the characters know either. It seems like a fairly straightforward narrative, except these odd moments are occurring more and more often. I can't go into detail about what these "odd moments" are -- I'd have to quote them to fully describe them, and that would be spoiling it -- but they essentially made me re-read the sentence, wondering if I got it right. Sometimes I'd read entire sections and wonder if I'd actually read them before, as if my bookmark was misplaced. But I'll follow Joseph Zitt's advice and try not to figure out the plot and just go along for the ride.] --- Outgoing mail is certified Virus Free.
