Did anybody have a chance to listen to Caine's "Diabelli Variations"?
I just received it last Friday. It is much more "straight" than Uri´s usual encounters with the "classics". He states the Beethoven theme in question on piano, and then, ofttimes accompanied by a small orchestra, runs through a plethora of variations. At times very nice when he lets himself wig out a bit on piano, inserting (often very obvious) to some of Ludvig von´s bigger works. -- Stephen Fruitman Dept of Historical Studies Umea University SE-901 87 Umea Sweden
