water is also the label that claimed to have unreleased tapes from Sun Ra's ESP recording sessions to be issued as "Heliocentric worlds, vol 3". Stollman was tracking them down on that one. Water was trying to cut a deal for the Horo albums as well. Aldo Sinesio mentioned there were going to be Horo cd's, but he didn't say when or who would be doing them. sean ....Water is a label based out of San Fran, CA according to the info on the reissue of "The Moray Eels Eat The Holy Modal Rounders" that I picked up. They also reished a record by a late '60's band/project called The Zodiac. I haven't heard this one. Both were originally on Elektra, and the Rounders' disc states that the material is still owned by Elektra and is manufactured by Rhino, so this would seem to indicate an above the table operation. The liners by Richie Unterberger and by Rounder Peter Stempfel also point in this direction. And the Rounder's disc sounds great, so that would hopefully point to the Ayler disc being free of the vinyl noise that Steve Smith mentioned about the Sunspots CD. Does anyone know about the Water label? They're reissuing Albert Ayler's "Nuits de la Fondation Maeght," both on LPs and a single CD combining both volumes. Someone said they thought these recordings (Ayler doing his chestnuts in a gentle, lyrical fashion, and Call Cobbs' harpsichord mercifully replaced with a piano) sounded intriguing, so here's your chance. It's not an Italian label, so they must be honest, right? _
