Why hasn't there been a domestic "No New York" reish? I've got the LP, but I can think of a half-dozen people who need one, easy.
Not easy to find out how this can be done. I've been working to reissue DNA material for a while now and we're finding that the artists on NNY don't have contracts for this anymore. We even contacted someone who works with Brian Eno (who produced the album) and he said that he doesn't have any information either. Of course with all of the major label juggling and consolidation that's gone on for the last few years, it's not easy to know who owns what now. It's quite possible that the people who put out the Japanese edition of NNY dealt with a different licensing dept. than anyone in the U.S. would have to in order to put it out in the States. Nevertheless, we're still trying... Best, Jason -- Perfect Sound Forever online music magazine with warped perspectives perfect-sound@furious.com http://www.perfectsoundforever.com
