Just came back from Chicago, and the Jazz Record Mart... thanx for all the advise, it was definately worth it. I found the median price to be 15.99 which is much better than my home town. I got Bitches Brew for 18.00 where as it is no cheaper than 30.00 around here. Id say my best buy was Rabbanical School Dropouts: Cosmic Tree. It has a very traditional sound to it. Reminds me a lot of Ciocarlia Fanfare with a slight more Klezmer feel. The sleeve said it goes through all kinds of genre, but it was pretty consistent al the way through, in my opinion. I also got Bar Kohkba (no one sells it around here) Bola Sete: Monterey Jazz Festival, and an Etta James collection. One question I have, I saw a Zorn album that was supposed to be in the Carl Stallings vein. Cant remember the title right now. Anyone heard it? Im wondering if it is decent composition or just something like Lacross with whistles and bells?
