My summer favorite, hands down: 'Parting the Waters: America in the King Years, 1954-63', by Taylor Branch My previous favorite non-fiction history book of all time was probably 'The Making of the Atomic Bomb' by Richard Rhodes, or Stephen Ambrose's D-Day book, or maybe McCulloch's biography of Truman, but 'Parting the Waters' really made me think. I'm still thinking. Am I the only one on the list who prefers history to fiction as entertainment reading? -whit nr - 'Gotham' (a history of NYC) On Fri, 23 Jul 2004, aaron chua wrote:

As I myself have been to horribly behind in my own reading habits I am not in any position to kick this one off. But to give it a gentle nudge, can anyone on the list recommend a good English translation of Don Quixote by Cervantes?
