Seconded. This is my "first" listening experience with Mesinai and I found it quite interesting. Mark Feldman's playing throughout is amazing, and Raz's work on sampling is truly impressive. I don't think this recording will be constantly on my cd player, but I bet you'll enjoy the experience. Hugo Linares NP: Kronos Quartet _Nuevo_ (Nonesuch). Nice pieces of work on popular Mexican music. ----- Mensaje original ----- De: Peter Gannushkin Para: Bill Ashline Enviado: Lunes 20 de Mayo de 2002 06:56 PM Asunto: Re: Raz Mesinai: Before The Law By? Hello Bill, Thanks a lot. I'll try to find it.
Does anybody have a chance to listen to this album? The description looks very interesting, but it doesn't make clear what to expect from this CD.
BA> Expect a lot of short vignettes of a Kafka-esque variety. A very BA> interesting recording and completely unlike anything he's done before. BA> Quite humorous as well. Mark Feldman is on violin, Jacqueline Leclair on BA> oboe and English horn, Michael Mosser on cello, Meredith Yayanos on violin, BA> Raph Farris, viola, Erich Schoen-Rene, cello, and Ann De Villiers provides BA> the mocking and erotic vocal interludes. I recommend it.
