Relative shelf-space and percentage of released work, my bigs are Bob Dylan, Benny Goodman, Bill Evans, Thelonious Monk, Merle Haggard, Rahsaan Roland Kirk, and -- don;t know if he qualifies as a bandleader -- Charles Ives.
Mine would be Miles, Zorn, John Cage (ok, not a bandleader), and -- by a large margin -- King Crimson (though that's a band rather than a bandleader... the margin would be even larger if I were to aggregate the bands and projects that Fripp has led).
