From: "D Dvb" <d_dvb@hotmail.com> Since the original question asked about the last five years, I didn't want to say anything but Drumbo has got to be one of my all-time favorite drummers. [snip] np Captain Beefheart "Lick My Decals Off, Baby"
Since the Captain was mentioned, I should say that I overcame probably needless suspicion of his somewhat later records CLEAR SPOT and THE SPOTLIGHT KID, and purchased both on one cd. I love them! Drumbo is in full effect, and the songs have a laid-back energy with the Cpt. sounding less perverse and more grumpy/salty. Great, great records. I don't know why I waited to get them. Are there any shitty Captain Beefheart records, then? The thing that pushed me to check the aforementioned out was a mention by Robyn Hitchcock of the Soft Boys that oen of those records (can't remember which, don't have my UNDERWATER MOONLIGHT reish liners with me...) was one of his very favorite records and had made a big impact on him. -----s np: Giacinto Scelsi, cd on Edition RZ __________________________________________________ Do you Yahoo!?
