Hi, First of all, thanks for understanding the weaknesses of non-English speakers like me and many other participants of the list. I'd like to point something out that's really important to me in order to avoid possible misunderstandings. The only thing I found really rude about DD's attitude was the fact that he was interrupting me before I even concluded the sentences, not that he was defending his own statements, which I find absolutely legitimate and reasonable. My spoken or written English may not be that good, but I think it was pretty obvious that I can perfectly understand a normal conversation and even reproduce my own thoughts (in Spanish or Catalan) and translate them to a foreign language with a certain accuracy. It's also obvious that my syntax isn't perfect at all and my lexical cappabilities are limited but that shouldn't be an excuse to treat the interviewer with what I consider at least "a slight rudeness". On the other side, I understand that DD might have in mind the translation of this interview, and maybe mentioning that I'm actually a translator would have helped (that doesn't imply that my English or German must be as good as my Espanish at all). But my respect towards Dave Douglas and his music remains the same and I keep listening to his records and expecting that new one in February with lots of excitement. And yes, in my next interview I'll go back to the RJC subject and see if we can get things a bit clearer! all the best, Efrén del Valle ___________________________________________________ Yahoo!
