I remember in the good old days (about 5 years ago) when I had under 40 CDs. Last count, I'm up to somewhere near 600, with few signs of slowing. I can blame John Zorn for most of it (he's the largest single artist % and he spurred on my collecting). The money spent (especially to a high school and college student) is very painful indeed. I try not to think of such depressing topics. I really feel that those shiny discs are like any other drug that psychologically addicts.you just need your fix. There is much guilt after a binge. Maybe rehab for CD collectors would be a welcomed addition to the music community. Though, it is people like us that keep small labels in business, so it's not a bad thing altogether.
