I recently rediscovered Miles Davis' "Dark Magus", which I now think is one of his finest albums. Does Columbia Legacy have any plans to re-issue "Agartha" and "Pangaea"?
Both were reissued in 1990 in the "Columbia Jazz Contemporary Masters" series, and those versions are still listed at Amazon.com for less than $20 apiece. I wouldn't expect them to be re-reissued too soon.
and, unfortunately both of those versions sound like shit compared to the japanese 20 bit remasters. if you dig those records, try Dark Magus, which is essentially the same material played by Dave Liebman and Azar Lawrence in place of Sonny Fortune, and ANOTHER added guitar player (Dominique Gaumont), with sparkling sound. either that or hunt down the japanese remasters for Aghart and Pangaea. the sound difference is amazing. you won't be disappointed sean
