The book is wonderful, full of terrific musicians' anecdotes and a pretty thorough overview of the art of improvisation, including sections on Bailey's own early work as well as examples of rock, jazz, Baroque and flamenco improvisation. The videos are pretty great, too (I've got all but the Milo Fine one), but you should know that they're pretty homespun affairs - they're certainly worthwhile, especially the duo with John Stevens, but they're not super-duper high fidelity. More like a well shot home video. The Company in Japan video has provoked a certain amount of debate due to its seemingly random cuts and juxtapositions of various performances, but there's some fine music to be heard in there. My first copy of the Stevens duo, actually, was completely blank. I wondered if it was an elaborate in-joke, but it wasn't, and Incus was very good about replacing it.
