Boris, Paul,... I don't think that the concert Laswell's Material-Electric Masada in Vienne will be cancelled... All the artists are not french, so, not very "concerned" with the problem of "les professionnels du spectacle en lutte". But, what's about the technicians, sound and light? As far as the festival goes on, their position is going nearer and nearer the strike... After the concellation of the Avignon festival (in France, the biggest economically speaking, the largest for the press =the best to raise the pressure on the governement...), some think that's no use to do more. Every action on the festival is decided every day at a meeting in Lyon (begin 13h, finish?). So we could be sure near 15h or 16h saturday afternoon, I think. All this saturday they will be "great things" to do in Lyon (popstar casting, Tour de France's starting,...), that's why I don't believe that a Zorn's concert will be a priority for an action in order to cancel it (perhaps only a speak at the opening). But, since the beginning, the direction of "Jazz a Vienne" has a very hard and tough position (no negociation, only the police!) against the protestation movement: menaces towards the technicians, very bad words on the artists on strike,... The situation could turn on an little war beetwen the staff and the direction, and, why not, some cancellations? But during this days (until july the 14th, with the mister Chirac's TV interview), "les professionnels du spectacle en lutte" are trying to create a national coordination, and to enlarge their movement with all the other social movements. For all this reasons, at this time, I don't see the concert cancelled. And I will be there! Nicolas.
