Just read in a French magazine that the KF is opening a club in Paris. Has the financial situation of the KF improved so much that they can open a new place in Paris, where the situation for such music is quite bad?
For that matter, does KF Los Angeles actually host any "such music"? I got the impression from glancing at their ads when in Los Angeles that its mostly rock, rap, heavy metal, etc. (anything but jazz or improv), with maybe the occasional nels cline or vinnie goila gig. For example, on the website schedule for february, they list cat power, a tribute to tupac shakur, and ellen degeneris standup comedy - not exactly the cutting edge of jazz or improv music. Maybe a similar strategy is planned for KF paris. Whit.
