He did rate a little mention, rockabilly-wise. Unfortunately for Chet's rep as a jazzer, he made the mistake of using Homer & Jethro on his best-known jazzy session (the one with "Galloping Guitar" and "Twelfth St Rag"). The result? Homer Haines' rhythm guitar playing drove so hard that he didn't even have to take a solo to be the most compelling guitar player on the date, and Jethro Burns... Jethro is one of the most natural, fluid improvisors in the history of the sport, and his jazz playing definitely overshadowed Chet. Those who know about such things cherish dearly their copies of HOMER & JETHRO PLAIN' IT STRAIGHT.
