On topic: I really enjoyed the short interview between Goldberg and Zorn in the Summer issue of BOMB, I'm glad Patrice drew our attention to it. Not a great revelation, but Zorn seemed more affable and fun in this interview, and whether on purpose or not, came across as pretty candid and, erm, _human_. It is good news for me that someone would toss out their kitchen altogether to make room for books and records...that's something to live for.
I like what he said about the Japanese people: they don't call you, and the reason is that they don't want to disturb you. With the new craze about cellular phones (where Japan seems to be on the leading edge), that behavior might soon have to be put next to the coffee shops in the long list of things belonging to bigone eras... I was wondering if Zorn's interest in Judaism does not coincide with him not living anymore in Japan. Looks like the timing matches (1992). Patrice
