He pronounces it with a short "I" sound. Actually, Touch Works is the disc with voice & hurdy gurdy, Touch Food is the newer set with a disc-long piano work & another disc with three shorter pieces. I like Touch Food very well. For me while Touch Works may be "accessible", it's somewhat less idiomatic. The piece for voice (which is presented in two different versions) doesn't really work like nearly all of the rest of Niblock's stuff. While this work is an interesting collaboration and shows off some of singer Tom Buckner's unusual singing techniques, there's much less of a thick timbral drone and more audible performer choices in the recordings. People who are interested in what Phill's live presentations are like, might want to check out the new 2-sided DVD from Extreme, called the Movement of People Working, which presents some of his mid-1970s films with some of his music from the same period. The main differences, I suppose, from his usual "Music & Films" installations are that there's no way to alter the running order of anything, so you might get the wrong idea that particular musical pieces and particular parts of the films are somehow connected rather than presented arbitrarily & you probably won't play it as loudly as he would.
