Hi Jason and all, It's hard for me to be objective with these guys. As Josh said, "Washing Machine" is a very good entry but maybe to their latest sound, much more accessible and melodic, richer in textures and with smaller doses of noise and improvisation. "NYC Ghosts & Flowers" is a lovely album as well, probably better than "Murray Street", imho. Jim O'Rourke's production is simply amazing, with a really clear sound. I wonder if "Evol", "Daydream Nation" or "Bad Moon Rising" would have the same impact on you by not listening to them when they were released. Hearing this stuff some years ago would have been much more enjoyable, I think. "Sister" is still certainly valuable in this sense, so to speak. "Dirty" was kind of their commercial breakthrough, an excellent record at the best moment (all the Nirvana/grunge outburst). I love this album and I'd urge you to buy it immediately (despite of what The Wire says about it!). It has lots of the punk energy that they seem to have lost (not for worse, though). "Experimental..." is still my fave, no doubt. "A Thousand Leaves" has been kind of underrated, but I'm sure if people gave it some more chances, it's a lovely record. It was some sort of "back to the origins" record but it has priceless moments. I'd run away from the SY+ICP+The Ex as well as their first collaboration with Jim O'Rourke, "Invito al Cielo". Maybe the best thing is to buy them all, actually!! And of course, don't miss a live performance. Even if the album they present is their weakes, they transform it in an incredible experience. Best, Efrén del Valle ___________________________________________________ Yahoo! Messenger - Nueva versión GRATIS Super Webcam, voz, caritas animadas, y más... http://messenger.yahoo.es
