In effect, isn't Universal saying with this point that even with the lower prices, they have very little faith in the value of their catalog?
You can read the opposite from this: UMVD may have such an inflated view of their catalog that they assume that people will be willing to do almost anything to avoid being the store that isn't selling the hits. And, with very few exceptions, they may be right.
