hello great zornlist oracle! i've been enjoying soul jazz record's compilation discs 'Studio One Roots' and 'Studio One Soul' (as well as their Jackie Mittoo release). rumour has it that the Trojan Records compilations are also quite nice (released by Sancturary Records), but the array of choices is bewildering. For example, just what is the difference between 'club reggae' and 'mod reggae'? For that matter, what is the difference between 'ska' and 'rocksteady'?). If anyone has any reccomendations on which Trojan comp to pick up, they would be much appreciated! Respond off-list, since this is a far cry from anything zorn related... On a more zorn-related front, i have a couple of zorn shows (amongst other things) available for blanks & postage; the list is posted on my website, reachable from: http://artsci.wustl.edu/~wwschonb/trades.html thanks, whit np - Dave Godin's Deep Soul Treasures, vol 3. (All 3 volumes are highly recommended - absolutely wonderful). ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Whit Schonbein Department of Philosophy Philosophy - Neuroscience - Psychology Program Washington University St. Louis, Missouri, USA wwschonb@artsci.wustl.edu http://artsci.wustl.edu/~wwschonb/ *** contact me for mailing address *** ----------------------------------------------------------------------
