Hi Umit. Thanks for the info. That's very interesting. I'm kind of curious how something like an Electric Masada concert is recieved there, concidering it's not more than a few months ago synagogues were bombed and so on. I know Zorn can be pretty provocative on the topic of anti-semitism and all that, at least he has been so at several shows in Germany.

There's an interesting and growing scene here in Turkey, mostly fueled by Pozitif, a concert and festival production company and also a label manager...(Doublemoon). Every October, we have Akbank Jazz Festival which features non-mainstream jazzers (Zorn played three times) and in July, there's Istanbul Jazz Festival which mainly features widely known musicians... Also we have a club called Babylon, which is also run by Pozitif guys, where lots of cool gigs have been made... You can use the following links for an archive of the past events here...
