The history of Amiri Baraka's political and literary development is pretty complicated & I'm pretty sure that, regardless of whether there are folks who still consider his positions to be Black Nationalist in nature, he now considers himself to be much more of an Marxist-Leninist Internationalist. As to the reaction to his poem "Somebody Blew Up America": the alleged anti-Semitism of isolated lines of the work are belied by the overall poem which is very clearly a look at the political history of (primarily) the US. Here's a Web site with some information and resources on Baraka: <http://www.english.uiuc.edu/maps/poets/a_f/baraka/baraka.htm> Bests, Herb -- Herb Levy P O Box 9369 Fort Worth, TX 76147 herb@eskimo.com
