After a first few listenings of the new Arto
Lindsay record I must say I’m very satisfied with it. Don’t know if
my opinion on this subject is of any value though, since I am also one of the
few who also enjoyed Invoked and pretty much anything he’s released. But
still this is his finest “Brazilian” record, up there with Mundo and Chill. He experiments much more with sound and
textures on this one. The style of the songs has not changed, but production on
this album just seems to be more clever and thought-out than on his other
recent efforts. And there is much more of a subtle skronk
in the background of many of the songs. I certainly recommend it.
On another issue, there is a
short but fine interview with Trey Spruance on http://www.beat.com.au/beatinterview5.shtml
