he seems to be... heard the tapes?  have you heard about the dozens of terrorist attacks that have been thwarted over the last few months around the world and here?  (they're not really covered that much by the mainstream, for some reason) what do you think 9/11 was?  a one time thing?  like, i understand your concern that we're being overly emotionally terrorized (not physically terrorized), but, when Osama tapes come out, or when terrorist cells are discovered in orange county (i saw an expose about that like, a year ago) what do you want the govn't to do?  HIDE the information from you?  yeah, we are putting ourselves in harms way of the terrorists now by attacking iraq, but you don't think they'd do it anyway?  i do... the cells were moving in before this whole iraq thing started .. Osama's mentality is that the US is evil AND weak, AND can be defeated with terrorism.  he actually thinks this.  i think the media candy coats all this, mostly. 

anyway, its also supposedly tied to the economy, if saddam builds up his arms again, and develops nukes (which he admitted he was working towards a nuclear weapons program in 1993 on a Barbara Walters interview :) lol) he'd probably start trying to take over the middle east and wwIII would probably start then anyway w/ a nuke standoff and the world's oil supply would be compromized. 

yeah, i guess: why do we care so much to try and disarm him?  when osama is obviously the pending threat?  his missiles can't even reach us, now.  well, we cared enough to not have him in kuwait.  and we didn't annex kuwait and take over thier oil fields, did we?  i dunno, its all really complicated, i agree, it is a whole new way of looking at "defense".  i know where it's starting, and this IS different than any other conflict that we've had, but i don't know where its ending.  we just have to "trust" our government.  we'll see what happens..
