What!?! Explain yourself
Just that the latter term of the analogy, while showing great facility for technical/aesthetic production methods and never being short of ideas, doesn't quite have the charm or, more specifically, the revolutionary intensity of the former term (give or take an occasional aberration). I gather that you are a Zappa fan, and I apologize for such a blunt dismissal. I have repeatedly attempted to lend an interested ear to his recordings on the recommendations of friends or even strangers, but I can never seem to get what the big deal is about. I like the 'Eric Dolphy Memorial Barbecue', though, and most of 'Weasels Ripped my Flesh', especially the cover. --bob np: Christian Marclay/Otomo Yoshihide -- Moving Parts

Now-a-days it's more likely I'll listen to Beefheart over Zappa.
goes without saying. It's like the difference between Duke Ellington and Glenn Miller. Or Stanley Kubrick and Stephen Spielberg.
