Nathan: Jimmy Forest had the orginal hit. His version is on a Delmark - United reissue called , I think, Night Train Rusty Bryant had a hit with NT on Dot, or something like that--long OOP -- but he did rerecord a good version for Prestige on an LP which may or may not be reissued as part of his the Acid Jazz series CD. Forest recorded NT again for I think Palo Alto (CRT??) with Shirley Scott on organ. Hope this helps, Ken Waxman --- ericksna@umich.edu wrote: > Anyone have any recommendations for versions of the
song "Night Train" other than the oscar peterson or james brown versions. I'm trying to put together a collection of these songs to go along with martin Amis' novel of the same name for a gift to a friend (the main character talks about a collection of her own creation with Georgie Fame, James Brown, Oscar Peterson). thanks in advance for any suggestions nathan
