Jeff, Will cd's burned using the new Apple format play in component or car cd players? I've been importing cd's to burn using AIFF, and importing stuff for the iPod using mpeg format. Since you're using a mac, I'll point out that as of iTunes 4.6, there's a third option: "Apple Lossless":

...which is essentially a like a WAV or an AIFF but with about half the file size. It is a lossless compression format like Shorten or FLAC, so the music you hear out of iTunes (or when duping a CD) will be identical to the original CD.
