Fred is still signed to Nonesuch, but the label is treating it as a "right of first refusal" kind of deal; he proposes a project, and if they want it, they take it. If they don't, he's free to take it elsewhere. Fred actually had a previous release on Palmetto already, the second 13 Ways disc with Michal Moore and Gerry Hemingway. He's also got a disc with Norma Winstone, Kenny Wheeler and Paul Clarvis out on Clarvis's British label, the name of which I don't remember at the moment. I'd think that the Whitman cycle might be a candidate for Nonesuch, but Fred's next confirmed release for that label is a solo piano Jobim CD originally planned for inclusion in the Songs Without Words 3-CD set and then pulled out for release alone instead. Not sure whether that label will put out his project involving voices and the poetry of Walt Whitman, though. Ken Waxman --- "Patrice L. Roussel" <proussel@ichips.intel.com> wrote: >
