Many years ago a guy named Martyn Voorveltd (Dutch, i think spelled that way) wrote a thesis (he may have published it- I don't know but I doubt it) in which he analyzed several 'experimental' songs - including pieces by this heat and art bears. It was excellent. I am trying to trace it or find him to get a copy... any ideas?
I did a quick search (hey, it is my job to find publications...) and found out that you are probably referring to the following: British Post-punk Experimental Pop (1977 - 1983). Dissertation, University of Leeds (1998). Correct name of the author is Martijn Voorvelt.
