I don't understand any of those Zappa over Beefheart issues. It's like apples and oranges. Sure they collaborated, but damn, Beefheart never sounded anything like Joe's Garage or the Yellow Shark. And Beefheart definitely has the art-rock thing cornered comparatively to Zappa.

Certainly my favorite Capt' and the magic band album. My favorite Zappa/Beefheart moment has to be Zappa announcing "Beefheart on soprano sax and madness" from Muffin Man. "Girl you thought he was a man . . ... "
