Just thought I'd test the waters.
- although he is pretty unique to my ears. He sounds more like a sax player (Coltrane, alot of times) than any other guitar player. He's a hell of an improvisor, and can solo over changes like nobodys business. Personally I prefer anything he's done after and including "Secrets" (1990).
He kinda lost me in the '90's, but I do like 16 Men of Tain and All Night Wrong.
I picked up his new live recording "All Night Wrong" at the Shibuya Tower, it's a Japan only release. Features Chad Wackerman and Jimmy Johnson, and the sound quality of the recording is unbelieveable. And the playing.......if this doesnt do it for you, then he's definitely not your cup of tea.
