Last night I saw for the first time Godard's "Alphaville" and " Pierrot le Fou" and I think they're just brilliant. I don't know if I'm wrong but I think those two movies are something Zorn is making allusions to on his cd Godard/Spilane. For example the Zorn's opening french narration is actually taken from the party scene in "Pierrot..." and is originaly done by Jean Paul Belmondo. Only Zorn is rather using the sinister voice from the "Alphaville". Are there some more allusions I should pay attention to? Godard/Spilane is my favourite album and now I found Godard and Fritz Lang some of the most creative directors.
