-----Original Message----- On Behalf Of Patrice L. Roussel data on the following records (sometimes just the recording date is missing):
313 - FIRST LIVE 1993: Masada
Well, I was trying to figure out this one... The info on the CD sais Sept 2nd, during Zornfest (10 years are gone...), but, the schedule available at http://www.northwestern.edu/jazz/performance/zornfest/ sais, that on 2nd Zorn has peformed some of his classical works. This would make sense, because Zornfest 10 years ago was chronological, first pieces were performed first. On Sept 12th, Thieves Quartet was playing, same lineup as "classic" Masada (Zorn, Douglas, Baron, Cohen), but they were playing the move score to Walter Hill's "Tresspass" (same source: Ed Price's comments. Patrice, you should remember these reports, you were there 3rd to 6th). On Sept 22nd the program was featuring "MASADA": John Zorn, Marc Ribot, Greg Cohen {program sez Sebastian Steinberg} & Joey Baron. Quote from Ed's report. If we make an interpretation of Zorn's (I guess) diary, which are the few words in the liner notes: "last minute changes... running over charts during the break"... Add to this Ed's comments "For the second half of the set they played Masada tunes". It seems it was Sept 12th, not 2nd. Somebody missed "1"... Under the name of Thieves Quartet though. __________________________________________________________________ Artur Nowak [.com]
