In my record store days in Santa Fe, we had a regular in our classical department who was a SERIOUS classical collector, and he'd hit our store every other weekend & drop 800 bucks every time. He could afford to do this, but his wife just HATED it, so he was always sneaking CDs in and out of his collection. He even rented a climate-controlled storage shed so he could hide another few thousand records from the missus. And he was really listening to all this, mind you - he could give you a detailed rundown of the merits of, say, 15 different recordings of Bach's Solo Cello Suites. Oh, and I have a co-worker with a monomaniacal record collection w/ about 3,000 Who recordings - doesn't even care about other Pye label bands. -Selvig np: Hank Williams "Long Gone Lonesome Blues: August 1949-December 1950" LP nr: Robert Mason "Solo" At 04:09 PM 12/12/03, Zachary Steiner wrote:
I have a friend who trumps that with 250-ish Miles CDs. Some how he is happily married with children who love him :) The kids listen to Miles, too. He got his daughter her own copies of Bitches Brew and On the Corner before she left for college.

while we're at it, how bout a zornlist poll of which leader you have the
most albums of and how many? for me, that would be miles, although i'd need to go home and make a count to tell you how many. dozens.
Duke Ellington by a landslide - 156 CDs, 42 lps (some overlap)
