Hamid Drake

I had the pleasure of promoting a couple of shows in Philadelphia with Hamid in the band. He is a really nice man, and a very versitile drummer. Witness his work on Joe Morris-William Parker-Hamid Drake Eloping With The Sun on which he does amazing things with a frame drum. Quite different is his work on Peter Brotzmann's latest Never Too Late But Always Too Early, also with Parker. Same drummer, different style. Great stuff.
