Touch Yello CD/DVD arrived today
J.R. we paid the same amount. Mine was 15.89EUR +2.00EUR low order fee + 1.50EUR postage Total 19.39 EUR
What's a low order fee? Why do they make you pay that? Greetings from Glenn Folkvord Chief editor ====================== They want you to buy more than just one CD I'm guessing. But who cares! Even with the fee they are lower and faster than anyone else.
All, I know I'm just being a "me too", but after much thought finally ordered two copies of the Touch Yello Special Limited Edition from amazon.de. Total cost was 47.52 euros and they arrived yesterday!!! I just thought of this after they arrived--will I be able to play the DVD on a US DVD player? Aren't there "regions" to be concerned with? Although set-top DVD players are region-specific, if you have a DVD-Rom drive in your computer then it should be able to play there. _____ From: yello-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:yello-bounces@mailman.xmission.com] On Behalf Of Paul Anderson Sent: Thursday, December 17, 2009 6:54 AM To: The moon: beautiful. ==>I just thought of this after they arrived--will I be able to play the DVD on a US DVD player? Aren't there "regions" to be concerned with? Good question. As I mentioned in this thread before, my Panasonic DVD player in the entertainment center bitched about it and wouldn't play. However, it might be PAL encoded or regioned. I'd have to load up the DVD in my 'puter to look at the coding... /me loads it up... According to Nero's InfoTool: Video Format: PAL 16:9 (Mpeg 2, 720x576) Regions(s): All Region free!!! But PAL encoded. That explains it. The PC played it just fine in Media Player Classic. :)
That explains it. You need to have a DVD player, which is capable of reading a PAL encoded video stream and/or a TV which is able to display PAL. We have the same issue here with NTSC DVDs. You could use a DVD copy program (which is illegal in most countries) to read the DVD to your harddisk and then create a NTSC encoded DVD with tools like Nero.
