What country are you from?
Hi folks, There are many members of this mailing list but, in fact, very few people ever post here. I wonder how many members are really in this list? How many Yello fans have access to Internet and care enough for them to become this mailing list members? This list is international since there are Yello fans in ANY country (I'm sure!). I'd like to know what country are you from? How many countries are *represented* in this mailing list? For instance, I'm from Russia. Is Yello popular in your country? Cheers, Adelka -------------- A musician was sure that music could improve any living creature. So he took his violin, and came to the deep jungles of central Africa. Then he started to play his violin. While he was playing classical music, many wild animals has showed themselves from the jungle. They were listened to the music. But suddenly a big awful crocodile has appeared and... eaten the musician! "What have you done??!!", said a lion indignantly, "His music was so beautiful! We were enjoying it very much. Why the hell have you eaten him??!!" "WHAT?" said a crocodile, having put his paw to his ear.
Southern Australia here. I am aware of at least one other in the list from Aussieland, dispite the poor support from local record companies. As I recall, the last Yello album that was released was Zebera. shaun -----Original Message----- From: yello-admin@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:yello-admin@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of Adelka Sundaymaniac Sent: Wednesday, 11 September 2002 4:19 PM To: yello@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [Yello] What country are you from? It's fascinating to read of other Yello fans around the world. Norway, Australia, Russia, Sweden... Well I'm from Ohio. Where, you ask? Ohio. It's a little bitty place in the mid-western part of USA. There's not much support for Yello here, and most of the time when I mention that my favorite band is Yello, they always say, "Who?" Then I say, "The end credit song in Ferris Beuler." Then I get lots of "OH YEAH, that song called, OH YEAH". The last Yello album I bought in the stores here was Zebra, and everything else I have to get through the net. Anyway I'm glad to be a part of the list and I'm glad to have found Yello about ten years ago, and since then they have helped to keep me sane. Rock on Yello! Paul (31 yrs old) from Ohio, USA

Yo mates! I'm one of the Swedes on this list and I've been a fan since I first heard "Goldrush" 1986. Yello was popular enough to be well-known around 1985-1991, with "Flag" as the most popular album, probably because of the inclusion of "The race". Since then interest have faded, though I thought it would increase when they had Swedish artist Stina Nordenstam as guest vocalist on "Pocket universe". Unfortunately, it didn't... /Hank -- Henrik Betnér Henrik@Betner.nu
G'day all, Well, I am also Australian (though living in the UK at the moment). That means that surprisingly Antipodeans rule this list by sheer numbers! <grin> To the other Aussies on the list: check out Red Eye Records in Sydney for all your Yello needs. They're a bit pricey, but they always had the latest album available. I can't really judge what the situation is like here in the UK. Not all albums are available, even in the big stores, but they're usually available on-line. Michael
Hi Here´s another swedish Yello fan. I´ve been Tied Up with Yello since -83 when I heard the album "You gotta say yes to another excess" at a friends place. Some of my friends can listen to Yello, but I´m the only true fan among my friends. It has never been any problem to find Yello stuff in our recordstores. /Jonas ----- Original Message ----- From: "Adelka Sundaymaniac" <sundaymaniac@yandex.ru> To: <yello@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Wednesday, September 11, 2002 8:18 AM Subject: [Yello] What country are you from?

Currently in New Jersey 30 miles south of NYC. Everyone knows the song "Oh Yeah" here. They just don't know who created the song. Julian
I'm from Poland. Yello was popular here, especially in years 1987-1992, but now it is not :-( -- == gry dodawane do czasopism ================ http://www.markolf.fr.pl == == http://members.tripod.com/markolf ======= marcolphus' discographies ==
Hi folks, I'm from USA. I'm living in southern California now, but I come from the northwest near Seattle. My introduction to Yello, like for many Americans, was the movie "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" with the song "Oh Yeah." As most of you probably know it was also featured in "The Secret Of My Success," and I'm sure it was in another movie around the same time period as "FBDO," but now I can't remember for sure. I thought maybe "Iron Eagle," but Yello is not listed on the "Iron Eagle" soundtrack. Any ideas? I know a few people with a least one Yello album, but only one other person, a friend in Portland, who has a collection. For many years now Yello has been one of my two favorite groups, the other being the near-ambient The Orb from the UK. Cheers! Bob
I am from Holland, my first contact with yello was in 1988 when i listen to The Race. As far as i know i am the only Yello fan in Holland. All the Yello albums are easy to get in Holland, except for Eccentric remixes, i had to wait almost a year for that one. The other film with "Oh Yeah" is 'Nuns on the run' Jeroen
yay Solid Pleasure - Blue Green was playing in the background here in California on a local news station doing a report on the German economy... playing in the background as people described how their economy is falling around them. I mean, it's too bad the economy isn't doing so swell, but the soundtrack was awesome. They played the first half of the song. I had just finished reading the yello-list email for the day, I turn around, and there it is. Cool.
Maybe the people at the lokal TV station thought that Yello is a German Group ??? Besides, I am from Vienna, Austria. Yours, Georg Matthew Muntean schrieb:

... also living in Seattle, I discovered YELLO after moving here from North Carolina. The first albums I heard were "One Second" and "Flag" - since then I've collected all their albums and many singles. I happen to be the first Washington resident to ask for YELLO as my state license plate. Check out http://sounds.wa.com/brianw/HUMMER/ for photos. Some people don't talk about Yello even though they are fans. I believe that may be why people who are fans don't know about other fans where they live. A friend was riding with me in my car and I played some Yello. He said: "I didn't think you were the kind of person who would like this music!" ... but I believe what makes Yello unique are that they attract the most diverse fans of any style of music - so there really is no single "kind of person" who would like Yello. Very impressive! I am from Norway and started to like Yello after an old friends father bought him Stella in 1985. They have forever after been my second favorite band, just behind Kraftwerk (of course). By the way. I´ve had a cat called Boris and a Doberman named Stella. Not nearly as impressive as a car though... Jan Ove -- http://www.notitia.no/chelsea/

As Cartman from SouthPark would say: SWEEEEEET!! If I'm ever in Seattle, I'll be keeping an eye out for that Hummer. Being YELLOw, how could I miss it! :-D I also wanted to get a vanity plate with YELLO in NY, but someone in NYC who owns a motorcycle already had it. :-[ Glad to see you got yours. :-)
New York, USA. I live in the state, not the island. ;-) But after 9/11, we're all New Yorkers now. :-) Been a fan of YELLO since 1984 when I saw "The Evening's Young" video on a program called "Night Flight", which use to be on the USA Network (Cable channel in the states). I've been a part of this list for a long time. I can't even remember the year I signed up it's been so long now. :-D Getting anything YELLO here in the states has been really difficult. Thankfully, the 'net bridged the gap and we all can get the releases and the rarities right from our chairs. :-) One of the record stores in town use to have a YELLO fan for an owner. Unfortunately, he doesn't own the place any more, so the YELLO stuff dwindled to the basic releases that can be found in most any store in the states. I don't even bother looking anymore. :-[ It looks like the Ausies are taking over the mailing list! :-D Kewl! -----=====<<<<<>>>>>=====----- J.R. from NewYork State USA The Yello Pagez - http://www.geocities.com/jr_bloodsworth/yello.htm (Yea, I know.
