Hi all, I'm happy to see the possitive respons on the new temporary FTP. My little server just wasn't fit for the job, and Thus a Big Thanks to ---gcr, for providing the alternative. I've uploaded the Seat Leon Commercial. And... I'm so happy that I finally got my video gear in working order again. Now I can start working on editing the Live at the Roxy Video. Which means: Taking all the clips from The Video Show, and edit the lot into one complete feature, with some inevitable extra's to get rid of the fade ins and outs where the L@the roxy clips link the Yello Video's. When it's done, I'll upload it. Greets, - Sampled Noise, My only Choice. Rene
Regarding video... Sounds excellent Rene - I, for one, am thrilled to finally be able to see the roxy vid. - However, I would like to request that the digitized clips stay as close to the original editing as possible. "Somone" has made some fair mpegs of the Essential Video clips which are divided into several parts (now available at the FTP server), but personally I would prefer to have this one released as a complete start-to-end file - I will see what that "someone" can do about that... ;-) /Dava ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rene" <t013463@tip.nl> To: "The moon: beautiful. Dava, I had in mind to encode the complete file with DivX and use Lame Mp3 160kbps for the audio. It'll keep the file small with good/best quality, and at a halfsize pal resololution. But I'm always happy with comments that include better options on size and quality ratio. Sounds good Rene, can't wait to see it - I think I may have misunderstood your previous message. Thought you were going to chop the clip into a set of selected pieces, which would've been a shame IMO. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rene" <t013463@tip.nl> To: "David Hansen" <dava@dava.dk>; <yello@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, June 26, 2003 4:23 PM Subject: Re: [Yello] Video on FTP

No no... The Live at the Roxy is already chopped on the tape, and is shown in between the normal Yello Video's. I hate that. I've hated it ever since I bought the tape. And he/she who came up with the idea to master the tape that way should receive a nifty spanking!! :-) Even if it was Dieters idea... have you tried putting all those clips together? i wonder if they fit. That would be cool. Jul On Thursday, June 26, 2003, at 10:22 AM, Rene wrote:

Well... The problem is in two parts: 1. The video segements have crossovers to the previous and next video clip. 2. The audio is mixed and has fades. I'll try several things. Best would be to edit the sequences over a Live at the Roxy track from cd. But that wouldn't be 'real' enough... :-( Perhaps I can restore/remix the audio track of the video first to a correct version after which I'll re-edit the scenes and segments. Painstaking... but worth the effort and it keeps me out of bars, sleezy joints and the gutter... :-) I just watched the video segments and was geting ready to capture them. I must say that the Tape I have (orignal from Polygram) is rather poor. A lot of saturation in colors and video-noise. Well, I'm not much of a collector - I would just like to see the videos :-) (- and besides, I don't have a VHS system anymore) ----- Original Message ----- From: "Julian Kovalsky" <julzmon@mac.com> To: "David Hansen" <dava@dava.dk>; <yello@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Thursday, June 26, 2003 4:55 PM Subject: Re: [Yello] Video on FTP

I've been watching this thread with interest. Nice to see an FTP being setup. I may be able to contribute some rare Yello material. Attached is a .nfo file (any word processor will read it) with all the 12" I have encoded to MP3. If there's any requests, I can upload it to the FTP. On that note, can someone provide me with access to the FTP please? I lost the original e-mail with the login details. Also, user name of 'jabberwoc' will be just fine. I've also got a few video's downloaded off usenet, not particularly rare, but if they're not on the FTP site I may upload them depending on how much else I've got to upload. Regards Jabberwoc

Poke around the download section. You will find my entire yello-vinyl collection present. Some of it is on the scratchy side, and all of it was encoded using oggenc v1.01 at q8. They were recorded from a Technics MK1200. I spent an untold amount of time **manually** removing what pops and clicks I could with Sonic Foundry's Sound Forge v4. Some of the scratchiness simply wasn't coming out, though, so if you have better compressions than I do, by all means, upload! It sounds like you are the winner with quality [save for them being in MP3 instead of OGG, though I am sure to receive an argument there... :) ] That said, I am particularly interested in hearing/seeing [for the first time] the following: The Messages_Scans The Messages-B-Haunted House Who's Gone_Scans Who's Gone-A1 (The Grande Mix) Who's Gone-A2 (Votre Dame Mix) Who's Gone-B (The Notre Dame Mix) She's Got A Gun_Scans She's Got A Gun-B2-There Is No Reason (Previously Unreleased) Lost Again_Scans Lost Again-A1-Lost Again (Extended) Lost Again-A2-Base For Alec (Remix) Desire_Scans Desire-A-Desire (Extended Dance Version) Desire-C-The Stella Suite Part 1 (Oh Yeah) Desire-D-XS (The First Ever Version) [we have this, but it is too low-q]
On that note, can someone provide me with access to the FTP please? I lost the original e-mail with the login details. Also, user name of 'jabberwoc' will be just fine. You've already got it! Party time! Excellent!
I've also got a few video's downloaded off usenet, not particularly rare, but if they're not on the FTP site I may upload them depending on how much else I've got to upload. At the risk of sounding repetitive, Excellent!
If you have the time / connection available for the task, up it all! --gcr
