I've been researching the word Dolores or Delores < Spelled both ways. Trying to figure out why the name Ultra Dolores was chosen for the new album. Meaning: Dolores (or Delores) is a given name, cognate with the English word "dolorous" (meaning sorrowful). In Spanish, where it is more prevalent, it is short for La Virgen María de los Dolores, "Virgin Mary of Sorrows", and is often shortened to the more colloquial forms Lola, Lolita or Loli. ====================== Dolores could also be a reference to: Dolores Recordings is a Swedish record label owned by Virgin Records, ====================== It could be referring to: Dolorès, a waltz written by Émile Waldteufel ====================== ...or maybe: Argentina Dolores, Buenos Aires ====================== I think they were probably just going with the meaning sorrowful or ultra sorrowful in this case which means we could be looking at a more mellow ambient style album. Maybe more instrumental then lyrical. That would be fine with me. I am more of a fan of Boris's instrumentals.
