I saw Yello's second album reviewed in about 1981 which described them as a cross between Kraftwerk, Captain Beefheart and Monty Python. That kind of review will always get my attention, and I went out and bought the album...when 'I Love You' came out as a single it was about the best thing I'd ever heard, and the B-side 'Rubber West' introduced me to the idea that guitars had a place in electropop. Yello have become a bit of a caricature of themselves on recent albums, but the golden age of Yello (YGSYTAE to Baby, if you want my opinion) was breathtakingly good.
