The clip has kind of a Motion Picture quality to it, to be sure. Unmistakeably Yello, too. I was surprised to see that Dieter was credited with making Yello's videos. I downloaded a lot of them from the FTP server when it was running. I wasn't paying too careful attention, but I got the impression that someone else had made the vids. - RF -----Original Message----- From: Shaun Turner [mailto:sajt@tvsched.com] Sent: Saturday, August 16, 2003 8:39 PM To: The moon: beautiful. Subject: RE: [Yello] New single it does sound good. it sort-of 'feels' like squeeze please, although a 60 sec snip out of a 6-7 minute song is rarely going to glean much. I hope they dont leave it to long for the single. It's been to long since the last album, and i'm keen to get to listen to the new material. shaun -----Original Message----- From: yello-bounces@mailman.xmission.com [mailto:yello-bounces@mailman.xmission.com]On Behalf Of MightyMeyer@t-online.de Sent: Saturday, August 16, 2003 5:17 PM To: yello@mailman.xmission.com Subject: [Yello] New single Hi there, i send it a few days before, but i can“t see it in the mailing list. U ahhh No way Rory, Dieter is the mind behind the video's. That's why the Alphaville video - Big In Japan (directed by Dieter) could easily be a Yello Video (with some allterations..) The stop-motion edits and movies shown on big screens as background, and images played on their faces, could be called a Meier Trademark. Further more... images and snippets found in those video's that seem to have nothing to do with the song itself and appear as decoration, are also a trademark or typical Yello Style. Somehow I believe that the Computeranimated versions (the remix tracks), were not produced by Dieter. The lack the certain touch. But who knows, can brief us all on this.
