Hey, There has been a lot of talk about how to get pictures of your albums for the site. Scanning is preferred. I understand that the 12" albums don't fit on conventional scanners. But you can scan them in 4 separate scans and I will put them together. A lot of the albums on the site were done in this fashion. Mark them "A"(upper left), "B"(upper right), "C"(lower left), "D"(lower right). Remember 7" vinyls will fit great on any scanner. CDs too. Jpegs or Tiffs are fine 300dpi works great. Digital Cameras are OK but you are going to have to do a very good job to even come close to the quality of scanning. With all this said I have yet to receive any contributions from anyone. Come on guys between all of us we must have everything YELLO has ever done. Everything on the site is from my collection and a friend of mine in Europe. If you have AIM or iChat you can instant message me and send them through instant messenger. My screen name is- jonathankamm@mac.com Hope to hear from you guys, Jonathan ARTWORK SITE: http://homepage.mac.com/jonathankamm/YelloSites/Menu22.html
Thanks guys for all the info about scanning and digital camera's. Slightly off the subject but useful nevertheless (and all in a good cause). Jonathan, I shall scan the covers as you requestsed and post them to you. BUT, can you let me know what application you use to stitch them together? Some kind soul mentioned they used to use PaintShop Pro v3 (now that's old!), is it any easier in the newer version(s)? The reason I ask is that I have some 1000 LP's that I would like to scan the covers of some of them and if it was relatively easy, then I would be prepared to invest the time to learn to do it. I have relatively new versions of PSP and Photoshop and one or two others. By the way, any news on the FTP site or has that sunk never to surface again? I have some 12" rips I would like to contribute. Covers to be scanend over the weekend. Peace to all. Patrick (a.k.a jabberwoc)
