OK, I've cleaned up the site. Mainly the singles section it was getting to full. I divided it into 2 pages now YELLO CD SINGLES and YELLO VINYL SINGLES works much nicer this way. I'm getting lots of contributions and want to thank all that have contributed. A lot of the vinyl I am not that familiar with. So be very descriptive with the names you give them. I'm trying to include the b-side in the title as well. A lot of you have been sending contributions with very descriptive titles and I thank you. The main menu is a little different now and the backgrounds on each page have a little better contrast to them. Please check out the site. If you see an error in any of the discriptions or have a question about a specific item. Click on it's thumbnail image. When the enlarged image appears there is a link at the bottom where can contact me about that item. Is there something you guys would like to see in the description? Possibly the year or product # or something? It makes no difference to me. I just like the Artwork but I know a lot of you collectors need certain info. You can contact me or just post your ideas to the message board. Anyone have alot of Carlos Peron or Billy Mackenzie covers? I could put up a page for them as well. Some New additions YELLO VINYL SINGLES Blazing Saddles / I Love You The Race / Another Race Rhythm Divine (Double Album) Jungle Bill (Green) Vinyl OTHER ALBUMS Outernational (Billy Mackenzie) YELLO CD SINGLES To The Sea Jungle Bill (Green Cover) CD That's all for now, Jonathan ARTWORK SITE: http://homepage.mac.com/jonathankamm/YelloSites/Menu22.html
Hi Jonathan! As I wrote before, you can have all the scans from my old homepage: http://www.unet.univie.ac.at/~a9103394/yello/pgyell.htm I think it will be down soon, cause I finished my studies years ago. You can also have a look an all the lyrics. Again, I have not updated it since Pocket Universe, so the "news" section is history already. cu, Georg ------------------------------------------- Versendet durch AonWebmail (webmail.aon.at)

Nothing special with the design, but it´s a bit sad that they removed the links "Friends of Yello" But I got a few seconds of Planet dada, and I must say that the northern lite remix was good. The other two mixes, one of Planet dada and The race was nothing I liked. /jonas sweden ----- Original Message ----- From: "Julian" <julzmon@mac.com> To: "The moon: beautiful. Hmmmm.... Once again we can witness how money is distributed to places where it shouldn't be going to. - First we have to suffer the concequences of the Yello Empire letting a mr. Tomcraft lay his hands on a Classic, and come up with something that could have easily be made with a sam-tracker on an Atari STE. Then our hungry eyes and ears encounter the shear magic of the Prototype Web-Designer, who knows one good trick and milks it. Which is not a compliment. - I say: Power to the Yello clan. We, the core of this little virual community have the ideas, creativity and means, to construct the real candy for fans. Let's just do it. I'll have one of my contacts hack the yello site and replace the lot.... (smile) - Rene
I wonder where they got the idea for the rotating Y :) Just kidding... I'm just very disappointed in this new ... website? After all these years this is what they come up with to represent them? Quality doesn't match the music that comes out of Yello. I just feel they deserve a much better site then this 6 years ago thing. I'm bummed. Have nothing against the site, just so happy they've finally updated it! But as Jonas say, it's a pity that they have removed the links, the soundstation, their history (what silly thing to do!!) and the other things. Hopefully more will come... Yeah I can´t understand the purpose of this site. Is it a new minimalistic trend? Look at other bands sites as DM, Apoptygma Berzerk, VnV Nation & others. Full of information such as bandinfo, tours ;-) , lyrics, news, sounds, records & pics Nothing what so ever on this new Yello site. The answer is that the site isn't made by fans. It's a long time I haven't worked on my own (because of over work on other project) but it's giving me some push to go on with it now... Check it in beta version on : www.gr3g.net/yello/console.html Nothing really innovating but I want it with a lot of infos and personal work of course because my own site... BTW the only full working ALBUM is YGSYTA Excess (lyrics and extras), I wanted to add some yello samples but I'm not sure I'll have the permission to... BTW the new site is pretty much nice than the old for my part... The new Yello website won't even load on my browser. I'm using Opera, and I refuse to use a browser with more security holes in it than a sieve (I.E.) just to try and view a site that I never found particularly informative anyway. So what was the "yyeeeaaahh" about, someone excited about something or what? Patrick

Besides the technical issues with the new website, I find it quite befitting for the new album. Call me speculative, but the forthcoming single Planet DaDa gives hints towards dadaism, an artistic style in which the new website, and in particular the design of the eye seems to pursue... So, no matter whether you like the design of the updated website, it is IMO a welcome attempt to serve an album concept which embraces Dieters (and Boris') artistic fingerprint visually in both coverart, webdesign and perhaps/likely also in regards to the content of the forthcoming album... If I remember correctly, Dieter has made references to dadaism in past interviews, and according to wikipedia ( http://www.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dadaism ) it appears that dadaism origined in Zurich, funny coinsidence, eh? :-) Anyway, to me the new visual concept of the Yello, yet again delivers a complete "package" like they did with in the past, Zebra and Pocket Univers in particular, and this time it appearantly references to a title on one of the songs as well. /Dava
/Dava, Dadaism might be lingering through the phenomena Yello from day one till now, but let's not forget something. Yello has become more an institute than just another synth group. Something they share with pioneers like Kraftwerk. Therefor one might expect some more solid PR structure where the total package of their output is concerned. Both Dieter and Boris are pro's, no doubt about that. But when they commit/hire others for their PR and give them sort of carte blanche to create something that lives up to the Yello Standard, they should persue their own Standard and kick some ass when the hired help is aiming at the required level of... Quality. Perhaps the DM&BB Collective is going through a midlife crisis... Rene
I agree with you Rene, I was solely commenting the visual concept and style of the website and the coverart. The technical quality and the weight behind the PR output leaves a lot to be desired, unfortunately. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Rene" <t013463@tip.nl> To: "David Hansen" <dava@dava.dk>; <yello@mailman.xmission.com> Sent: Monday, September 08, 2003 12:38 AM Subject: [Yello] Yello & DaDa-ism

In my line of work I often encounter the Dieter like visionaries. With all respect to Dieter as an artist, and less respect to the art-directors that breath down MY neck, I can say it's a general problem to fully comprehend what they talk about. Where I as a production-man are more close to the tools, the art-directors seem to float in their own fluidic space. They try desperately to translate their thoughts, with words, hands and feet, so people like myself can give birth to it through a Macintosh Machine and it's peripherals. Resulting in a sort of comprise between their thoughts and my skills with a big axe close to our necks as the deadline. Deadlines often kill the quality of what grows from that interaction. Time makes things grow to their full extend. Art cannot be pushed. Something that lost as soon as commerce is involved. Rene On Monday, September 8, 2003, at 07:59 AM, David Hansen wrote:
